Last Epoch Season 5 Patch Notes

Quick Answer

Season 5 changes faction rewards, ritual loot, skill unlocks and campaign rewards. This review includes patch 1.5.2; check the changes affecting your current task before copying an older routine.

The Last Epoch Season 5 patch notes change how you earn faction rewards, choose ritual loot, access new skills, and plan campaign shortcuts. Rage of the Frostborn launched on October 1, 2026 at 11:00 CDT. Patch 1.5.2 is included in this October 8 update, with changes to automatic Bazaar price reductions, Dreamslash targeting, Bloodrage behavior, and several skill and interface fixes.

For a returning character, check the faction system and your skill triggers first. Circle of Fortune no longer uses Prophecy rerolling, Merchant's Guild no longer locks equippable item purchases behind rank, and several effects now explicitly require a direct use. Those changes can invalidate a routine copied from an older guide even when the character's main skill has kept the same name.

Apply the changes that affect your next session

Use your current task to prioritize the patch. A fresh character should check campaign reward changes and new skill unlocks. A farming character should configure faction rewards and review repeat-echo penalties. A character already using a new unique should inspect its variant buff and any interaction corrected in 1.5.2.

Patch changes do not establish a universal strongest build. A larger coefficient or corrected trigger can improve one configuration while leaving its resource and survival limits unresolved. Use the listed behavior to check your character, then compare the whole setup rather than ranking classes from isolated patch lines.

Understand the new ritual reward decisions

Rage of Morditas appears from campaign Chapter 2 and in Monolith echoes through a Blood Crystal. Its first phase rewards rapid kills under a timer; its second phase revives the enemies you killed in a gauntlet. Bloodrage Charges are earned at 20, 50, 90, 140, and 200 kills, with up to five charges from those thresholds.

Rage of Morditas reward selection interface

After completing the gauntlet, spend charges in the reward interface. Claiming an item resets the panel and generates five new items. A Frozen Ritual sacrifices the selected reward slot and rerolls the remaining rewards as that item type. A Bloody Ritual sacrifices the selected slot and excludes that item type from the rerolled selection until an item is claimed.

Each ritual therefore costs both a charge and a reward slot. Repeated rerolls are a decision about narrowing or excluding item types, not a free sequence of fresh five-item panels. Charges do not carry into the next encounter, but the current rewards remain until you modify or claim them.

Ritual equipment introduces Ice Forging Potential and Blood Forging Potential. Ice potential can be preserved during crafting, while Blood potential increases critical success chance. Their advantages apply to crafting decisions; they do not guarantee a perfect result or make an unsuitable item base useful to every build.

In 1.5.2, Weaver's Will items gain progress from enemies killed in the gauntlet. Some offline encounter placements were fixed, Ice Shards displays correctly online, and potions or mines from relevant Rage buffs now spawn within reach. These are concrete behavior corrections rather than evidence of an overall damage multiplier.

Separate Morditas progression from corruption

Completing ritual encounters in Monoliths progresses the new Morditas challenges. The Nexus tracks the souls and Anger involved, with the standard boss encountered in Circle of Frozen Blood. Anger increases challenge difficulty and rewards, and you can soothe Morditas in the Nexus when that difficulty becomes unsuitable.

Defeating the standard encounter provides the special pinnacle Woven Echo, Demigod's Ascendance. Its placement requires 400 corruption. Treat that as an access condition for a particular activity, not the corruption level every Season 5 character must reach before ordinary farming becomes worthwhile.

Traveler's Rest replaces the former Echo of the World hub and has a waypoint in the End of Time Era. The Nexus lets you select timelines and endgame activities, including dungeons and faction information. In 1.5.2 it also shows a Harbinger-available icon for each timeline, making the next available challenge easier to identify.

The erroneous leaver-penalty tooltip on Demigod's Ascendance was corrected in 1.5.2; no actual penalty had been applied. Do not preserve a route restriction based on that old tooltip. Read the current activity information when deciding whether to enter or leave a challenge.

Replace CoF rerolling with charged reward slots

Circle of Fortune now has four Prophecy slots unlocked by rank. Select one reward and one lens for each slot, then earn Favor to build charges. A slot can store up to 99 charges, and completing either of its designated target conditions consumes charges to produce the selected reward.

Rewards unlock and upgrade as rank increases. Rare equipment rewards become exalted at rank 4, and a selected reward that upgrades does so automatically. You do not need to return to the Observatory merely to activate that upgrade.

Each reward and lens can occupy only one slot per character. Multiple characters can use the same unlocked choices, but you cannot fill all four slots on one character with a single identical reward. Configure different equipment or material goals that suit the activities you are already running.

Lenses can alter charge speed, affix weighting, reward duplication, or average Legendary Potential. They unlock for characters sharing the relevant stash after acquisition and move into their own storage. In 1.5.2, duplicate rapid Prophecy notifications were removed, and charge notifications give way to the HUD tracker. A missing old pop-up is therefore not sufficient evidence that charging stopped.

Recheck Merchant's Guild purchases and listings

All equippable item types are available to members of Merchant's Guild regardless of rank. Higher ranks instead unlock purchases of bags containing crafting materials or keys. Gold and Favor still matter; removal of the rank gate is not free access to whatever item you want.

The Bazaar provides price suggestions based on recent sales of similar items. Early in a season, price history may be limited. Use the suggestion as information alongside item rolls and comparable listings, especially when a variant affix or rare property changes the value of a particular copy.

Automatic price lowering is optional. Set a floor, a flat or percentage reduction, and an hourly, daily, or weekly frequency. Patch 1.5.2 lowers the minimum reduction amount from 500 gold to one gold. That allows smaller reductions; it does not choose a sensible floor for you.

Listing confirmations now summarize tax and price-lowering settings, and several stall-switching, filter-scrolling, and affix-picker issues were fixed. Read the confirmation before listing. The new interface can save repeated relisting work, but it should not replace checking that the final settings match the sale you intend.

Check new skill unlocks and incompatible branches

Dreamslash unlocks at 10 Bladedancer passive points and requires a melee weapon. Its base cost is three mana, it has no cooldown, and shadows can copy its dash and slash behavior. Distortion Blade can reduce its basic cost, but optional shadow resummons and throwing triggers add separate expenses.

Radiant Lance unlocks at 15 Paladin passive points. Its base version requires a shield and scales with uncapped block chance. Cloudless Sky removes the shield requirement and replaces that damage relationship with maximum-mana scaling. Those branches represent different equipment plans rather than bonuses to combine without checking the tree.

Summon Tide Elemental unlocks at 30 Shaman passive points. It is a permanent minion with cold spell attacks and Geyser, with conversion and support options in its tree. Its lightning-conversion text now clarifies that the conversion does not apply if wind conversion has already been taken.

Synchronized Strike is now exclusive to Bladedancer at 35 points invested, and Symbols of Hope is locked to Paladin at 35 points. Update leveling bars that previously depended on their earlier unlocks. A skill shown in an older early-game setup may now require a later transition or a different mastery.

Use the 1.5.2 fixes to troubleshoot builds

With Nightmare Steel, shadows copying Dreamslash aim toward the player's cursor rather than the endpoint of the player's attack. This affects directional behavior in that branch; it is not a change to every Dreamslash variant's mana cost or a promise of better boss damage.

Dreamslash Nightmare Steel node tooltip

Lightning Blast now prioritizes non-breakable targets and only chains to breakable objects when its total chains exceed the available non-breakable targets. This clarifies how chaining behaves around scenery. Keep checking your actual chain count before interpreting the result as a missing offensive stat.

Other practical repairs include repeated Shield Rush with Mana Memory restoring mana correctly, indirectly triggered Shield Bash applying Kindling, and Summon Wraiths appearing near the player by default. Drain Life's Malignant Discharge works without requiring Virulence, while Flame Rush's Breath of Fire now requires a point in Guidance of Flames.

Unsated Rage no longer displays an affix-tier listing on its Bloodrage buffs. Revitalizing Rage is no longer applied to characters with effects granting ward per missing health. One is a display correction; the other affects whether a buff applies to a particular defensive setup. Do not treat both as an ordinary reroll of ring statistics.

Using a dungeon ability no longer triggers a cooldown skill in the leftmost skill slot. This matters when a build uses indirect skill activation: dungeon navigation should not be counted as a reliable extra trigger after updating. Check the intended source of each automatic cast before changing your damage rotation.

Update campaign and farming assumptions

Majasa and The Observer no longer each award one to all attributes. Gathering five Knowledge of Orobyss now awards two to all attributes, and The Observer's quest awards a passive point. Track these separately when using dungeon shortcuts, rather than following a pre-Season-5 instruction to finish a specific boss for its old attribute reward.

Three one-shot caches containing dungeon keys were added in out-of-the-way locations. They provide a single opportunity to use each dungeon as a campaign bypass on a first seasonal or solo character. They do not establish an unrestricted campaign-skip button or remove the need to obtain quest passive points and idol slots.

Entering an echo already attempted gives significantly less experience and Favor, alongside the existing reductions to loot and encounters. Farm fresh content instead of repeating one echo indefinitely. The change specifically undermines that repeated-attempt routine; it does not mean every successful echo has lost its normal progression role.

Before your next session, check the active client version, refresh your faction configuration, inspect skill prerequisites, and review the loot filter for new equipment and changed goals. Keep a functional setup while adjusting one affected interaction at a time. A corrected tooltip, a fixed trigger, and a balance change deserve different responses, even when all three appear on the same patch page.
